Things Nobody Told You #3

"there are exceptions, but mostly sp seems to be a passing moment in most photogs' lives. The expenditure of energy and time, the daily grind, for the usual meager return (and diminishing returns), naturally wears you down, particularly if you're not a pro." Noll Lluma

I'm not there yet but I can see how you could get there from here. This will be my summer of sanguine solace. I will be the first one on the street and I will be the last one on the bus back home.
soldier on...

Bongo your photo work is fantastic. It reminds me of Diane Arbus's work. If you are not familiar with her please google her name and you'll see what I mean. Your paintings leave a little to be desired. I want to see the mood of the place or thing and can't get that with such grayed tones. I am a member of artanoyomus and that's where I picked up your blog. My name is Donna Elio and I am a watercolorist. Google my name to see some of my work if you are interested. Do you have any knowledge of an old website called 99 Doors or maybe windows? I lost the URL, but you would be fasinated with it as it features old abandoned warehouses.

Donna,
thanks. Diane Arbus was a goddess. But her work falls more under what I would call social documentary. She got involved with the people she photographed, made friends stayed in touch, etc. I'm just a mongrel gun and run street photo dog.

As for my paintings having "grayed tones" - that's the point - that is the mood - subdued. It seems to get a lot of reaction - both positive and negative. I will check out your work and look for the 99 doors... see you at art anonymous!
